Why TRM Services Garden Boxes?
Our garden boxes are one of a kind. They are handcrafted from locally sourced full-dimension rough-sawn tamarack and galvanized steel panels and fasteners. Tamarack is a strong and naturally rot resistant wood, like cedar (but stronger), that doesn't require chemical preservative treatment in outdoor applications. It's often used for boardwalks on hiking and ATV trails. Check out the details below to see if our boxes are a good fit for you.
Standard Features
Our corners are mitered for a clean look. No visible ends of the boards here.
Frames are a full 2" thick, not the 1.5" nominal thickness you get at a lumber yard or big box store.
Braving on 8' boxes helps prevent the box from bowing when filled with soil.

Full dimensional lumber for extra strength and a solid feel (2x4's are 2" by 4", not the nominal 1.5" x 3.5").

Galvanized 31 gauge steel panels and fasteners for a long service life.

Mitered corners for a refined aesthetic; no visible ends.

Boxes that are 6' long or longer are reinforced with an additional vertical brace to help support the panel.

Boxes that are 8' long have cross braces that tie the long sides together as added assurance to prevent the box from bulging once filled with soil. On 30" tall boxes, the top cross brace is placed low enough to be buried and unseen when the box is filled.

Bottoms are open to allow full drainage (bottoms are a custom option).

The table shows our standard sizes and prices. Lengths are generally limited to 8' due because the lumber comes in 8' lengths. See the custom options below for exceptions.

Ordering Information
Current Lead Times:
Wood is on order and building is scheduled to begin the second week of April.

How to Order:
Orders can be placed by phone or contacting us through the website. Hopefully a web store will up up and running soon. Everything is built to order, but occasionally we have a box someone didn't want, or have a chance to build a couple and have them ready to go.
​
When you place the order we need to know your name, phone number, and your address (if you want the box(es) delivered. We may ask for a deposit depending on how large the order total is. Custom orders will need to be paid up front. Boxes are built in a first come first served order so getting your order in early gets means you will get your box sooner.
Be aware that when the wood runs out, we quit for the season, so don't wait too long to get your order in.
